A heartbreaking spring saw the mysterious deaths of several horses on the property and the cancellation of their May horse trials.

The Zara Buren Memorial Foundation was established in 2020 to help youth with the desire, talent and work ethic to pursue their passion.

Thanks to the strength of applications, in addition to the $6,000 grant winner an additional four deserving riders will receive $1,000.

The award in Zara's memory will be presented annually to a young Ontario rider who exhibits a passion for eventing and commitment to their horse.
