2025 Brosda Olympic Bursary to Hannah Beaulieu

On behalf of the Brosda family, Equestrian Canada (EC) is honoured to facilitate support for the Élisabeth Brosda Memorial Fund through the Horsepower Foundation – a fundraising program created by EC, in partnership with the Canadian Olympic Foundation, to inspire and support Canadians to embrace lifelong participation in equestrian activities.

The Brosda family, members of the Dressage High Performance Advisory Group along with a representative from the Canadian Olympic Foundation met to review the applications received for the 2025 Brosda Bursary.

The 2025 Brosda Olympic Bursary has been awarded to Hannah Beaulieu, originally from British Columbia and now living and training in Aubenhausen, Germany. Beaulieu is currently working as an assistant to Olympic Champion Jessica and Benjamin von Bredow-

Werndl, riding a variety of horses and gaining experience, all while focusing on her personal development and further advancing her nine-year-old mare Siri towards Grand Prix.

She is not only fortunate to receive regular training from Jessica and Benjamin, but from outside trainers who including Jonny Hilberath, Morton Thomson, Andreas Hausberger and Sebastian Heinz.

Prior to moving to Aubenhausen, Hannah was a rider for Dressurstall Meggle, competing Meggle’s Long Island in München-Riem CDI 1* earning second place in the Prix St. George and third place in the Intermediate I. She also showed Meggle’s Ray Dance in Grand Prix classes.nine

Hannah is very passionate about the sport of dressage and her connection to the equestrian community. In October, she had the opportunity to share her experiences at the West Coast Dressage Development Program in Langley, Canada.

“The friendships and relationships I have built in the horse industry have been invaluable, providing support, inspiration, and a sense of belonging,” said Hannah. “I am excited about the opportunity to further my development and continue contributing to our vibrant community through this bursary.”

With Brosda Bursary funds Hannah is looking forward to continuing to compete, and further developing Siri for CDI competitions with an ultimate eye on representing Canada at the highest levels.

In her letter of support for Hannah, Von Bredow-Werndl expressed “The Brosda Olympic Bursary’s mission aligns perfectly with Hannah’s aspirations. This support would enable her to further invest in training, international competition, and sport science to elevate her performance. I am confident she will use this opportunity to reach new heights while serving as a proud ambassador for the bursary and Canadian dressage.”

About the Élisabeth Brosda Memorial Fund

The Brosda Olympic Bursary is offered in memory of the late Élisabeth Brosda of Gatineau, QC. A passionate young equestrian and an accomplished dressage athlete, Élisabeth was tragically killed in a head-on car collision in September of 2016. Élisabeth’s goal was to reach the Grand Prix level and represent Canada at Olympic Games.

The Brosda Olympic Bursary is designed to assist aspiring athletes reach their full potential and support the development efforts of athletes showing the skill and determination to represent Canada at Olympic Games. The Bursary will provide up to $10,000 annually toward financial support for international competition, sport science, training, equipment and sport education.

As a lasting legacy in memory of Élisabeth Brosda, funds donated to the Élisabeth Brosda Memorial Fund are directed specifically to the annual Brosda Olympic Bursary.
