The Kingridge King Triumphs at Angelstone

Hugh Graham and Airborne flew past the competition and claimed their first Grand Prix victory at Angelstone, in last night’s Town of Erin $40,000 FEI Grand Stakes Class presented by footing specialists, Equestrian Services International.

The top ten riders were invited back for the second round to jump off in the second round for prize money.

Graham had an incredible week at Angelstone; placing second in Thursday’s Albion Golf Carts Open Welcome, and then following up with the win in last night’s Town of Erin Grand Stakes.

Hugh was enthusiastic about his horse’s progress so far this season: “Airborne was on top of his game last night. He jumped great all week, he put in two great performances in two big classes. He felt like he was confident, happy, and having fun out there on the course.”

His performance this week was even more impressive considering that just two weeks ago he sustained a serious head injury after being kicked by a horse.
Hugh has been a long time supporter of Angelstone, attending every show week at Angelstone since its inception. “I want to commend the Angelstone team on putting on a great show this week. It’s been once again a great show and a positive experience for myself, and my horses.”

Angela Covert rode Cisco’s Zidane over two double clear rounds and secured herself a second place finish in the second round of the Grand Stakes.

Thursday’s Open Welcome winner; Nina Fagerstrom once again showed her ‘Flower Power’ by jumping double clear, and fast aboard her impressive 9 year old mare ‘Flower’, finishing third overall after her two rounds.
