An FEI Endurance ride was held in Berwick, ON June 28–29 and many Canadian riders earned personal bests and qualifying times.
In the CEI 3* 160 km race, Dessia Miller of Berwick, ON was second in a time of 14:08:50 riding Amber Kiera, her 10-year-old Arabian mare. Third place went to Lee Hutten of Chesterville, ON, and Cognac Amberfyre, Miller’s 11-year-old Arabian stallion, in a time of 14:08:51.
Monica Grundmann of Bainsville, ON won the CEI2* 120 on June 29 in a time of 14:54:52 with Excalibur Legend, her 14-year-old Arabian cross.
Wendy MacCoubrey of St. Justine de Newton, QC, won the CEI 1* 80km on June 28 in a time of 6:40:50 riding Lynda Townsend’s seven-year-old Arabian gelding, Agils Golden Indy. In the CEIYJ1* 80 on the same day Stephanie Mcleod of Oka, QC, won in a time of 6:17:50 with Teresa Blake Finnerty’s 11-year-old gelding Just Unexpected. Second place went to Heather Nielsen of Lamont, AB and Furion, a nine-year-old Arabian gelding owned by Townsend. Laura Austin of Millbrook, ON was third (6:40:25) with her 13-year-old Anglo-Arabian mare Good To Go CCA.
On June 29 in the CEI1* 80, MacCoubrey won in a time of 6:27:29 riding Goin for Gold, Townsend’s eight-year-old Anglo-Arabian gelding. Leah Jansen Van Doorn of Alliston, ON was second with Brenda Harrison’s seven-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, Brave Heart, in a time of 6:47:45. Third went to Jenna Jansen Van Doorn, also of Alliston, ON, and Harrison’s Bit O Both (6:47:47).
