Show Jumping Action at Tbird Culminates in Win for Phillips

Although no spectators were allowed to attend this year’s West Coast Classic which ran June 30 – July 4, the excitement was high in this first competition that Tbird has hosted since October 2020 when the ATCO Cup Grand Prix was held. Hopefully, restrictions will be eased soon so that everyone can once again enjoy amazing sport.

Tbird ended this weekend’s event with two big classes: the $15,000 MarBill Hill U25 League 1.40m, and the $20,000 Maui Jim Grand Prix. Canadian jumpers took the top three places of grand prix, with Tamie Phillips riding Ecatino to the win, Meredith Ellis on Castros second and Christopher Lowe and Cunningham 4 earning a hard-fought third place.

Ashley Arnoldt (CAN) finished first riding Lestat Old in the Marbill Hill U25 class jump-off, while Kassidy Keith (CAN) and Havana took second prize and Reid Pankewicz (USA) rounded out the top three aboard Barack.
