The July Series at HITS Culpeper wrapped-up with another full week of USEF-Rated hunter and jumper competition. The Cavalier Classic featured a $35,000 Open Jumper division, $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, and $1,000 Platinum Performance Hunter Prix.

Jamie Gibson kept the momentum going after her win in the $20,000 HITS Open Prix during the Showday National, by kicking off the Cavalier Classic with a win in the $5,000 Open Welcome aboard CADDIE R in a time of 34.405.

Taking home the blue ribbon in the $10,000 Open Prix was Kama Godek and STONEHENGE 5 in a time of 37.527.

Saturday afternoon came to a close with the Culpeper Equitation Classic in the Grand Prix Ring. The HITS Culpeper Equitation Classic is designed for Junior, Amateur, Children’s, and Adult riders showing at 3’ or 3’6”. Emma Pell rode to the blue ribbon in this unique class with a score of 76.

Featured jumper competition at the HITS Culpeper July Series came to a wrap with the $20,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Grand Prix on Sunday. Rosales and VOIGTSDORFS QUONSCHBOB moved up in the standings from their third place finish in the $10,000 Open Prix on Friday to win the $20,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Open Prix on Sunday. This team was victorious as they crossed the timers in 42.798.

The Cavalier Classic hosted several featured classics for Hunter riders, including the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby, $1,000 Platinum Performance Hunter Prix and Marshall & Sterling Finals League classes and classics.
Leading the field with a score of 187 in the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby was Emily Williams for her ride aboard ROYAL DANCER. Williams topped the Hunter Classic round with a score of 90 and finished the Handy Hunter round with a 97.

Ana Bertozzi and COUSTEAU rose to the occasion in the $1,000 Platinum Performance Hunter Prix with scores of 82 and 83 for a 165 total. The Platinum Performance Hunter Prix is open to Junior and Amateur riders, and is the qualifying class for the Platinum Performance Hunter Prix Final at the HITS Championship.
