The Canadian Horse Defence Coalition has revealed, on their blog, the content of a letter sent from Equine Canada to MP Alex Atamanenko, author of the Bill C-571, which was recently read in the House of Commons.
In it, the author of the letter relies on the now infamous US GAO (Government Accountability Office) commissioned report to Congress entitled “HORSE WELFARE Action Needed to Address Unintended Consequences from Cessation of Domestic Slaughter,” which was effectively debunked by John Holland of the Equine Welfare Alliance, to prop-up their position on horse slaughter in Canada.
