With a successful Christmas edition Dec. 16-19, Youhorse.auction closed out the year 2023 in style. The strong collection of 63 horses received keen attention from as many as 22 different countries.

“This is a very nice end of the year!” says organizer Mario Everse. “We sold a great many horses and even broke the record with buyers of 22 different nationalities. It is remarkable how people from all over the world manage to find our auction and have confidence in us. Naturally we are working hard on that, together with our whole team. For example, we are transparent with the vet reports and try to add as much information as possible in our auction texts. It is great that this effort is so much appreciated. This would not be possible, of course, without our sellers and buyers. We would hereby like to thank them for their confidence.”

The star of the evening was Ike (Big Star x Burggraaf), who sold for 65,000 euro. The 10-year-old gelding has already jumped at 1.45m level internationally and will continue his career under a Swedish professional show jumping rider.

The KWPN-approved stallion Interest (Andiamo x Concorde) will cross the ocean to Mexico for 55,000 euro. The 10-year-old Indio (Kannan x Burggraaf) was knocked down for the same amount, but will stay closer to home. He, like the 11-year-old Hero (Bodinus x Corland), will go to stables in Germany.

The five-year-old bay gelding Paco (Kassander van ’t Roosakker x Galoubet A) went to an undisclosed Canadian buyer. Described as “a big, large-framed jumping horse with a huge stride,” Paco’s half-brother Cheese W Z performed at 1.55m level with Bertram Allen and Karina Aziz. His sire, Kassander van ’t Roosakker, is the son of Echo van ’t Spieveld (1.60m GP) out of Electra van ’t Roosakker (1.60m GP under Jos Lansink). Dam Idyllic II (Galoubet) is out of the famous Le Mexico daughter Adith, who jumped at 1.60m level under Hap Hansen and produced 14 offspring who jump at the elite level, including the stallions Daredevil, Here and Now and Glad Tidings.

Two other horses were sold to Canadian interests: the four-year-old gelding Obadari (A Big Boy x Lupicor II) and seven-year-old gelding Icebreaker Z (Iceman De Muze x Burggraaf).

Auctions continue in the new year on the first Tuesday of every month.
