After working the horses this a.m., Anne Marie and I went to watch the new event near Orlando called Three Lakes, it runs Beginner Novice – Preliminary. Here are some shots from the event.
The first thing we saw was a picturesque cross country warm up in front of a lake. The start box is near the edge of the lake and your first few fences follow the bend around the lake then off into the tall woods. Lovely tall trees makes it easy to see with plenty of shade.
On your way to the water complex you gallop along side another lake, hop through the water and track right back towards the farm. Tall trees planted in rows on either side as you head towards a “mini” hollow (log on the uphill then land going down into the hollow and pop out the rise over a log on the way out).
There were three dressage rings, all of them flat, two grass ones and one nice red sand one. Dressage warm up was big enough and flat enough on grass.
Show jumping warm up was a nice size too, with good level grass footing. The show jumping ring itself was a good size rectangle near the forest with brand new jumps. It has one tree included in the ring. The forest on the edge provided excellent shade and the lighting was NOT tricky.
I asked a few riders how they liked it and got very positive feedback. We look forward to our chance to play there.
