A very diverse collection of 52 horses was knocked down on Tuesday night, March 7th in the Youhorse.auction. The four-year-old Verdi TN son Ongering claimed the top price of 65,000 euro and fell into Israeli hands. Ongering had also been the auction topper in the January Youhorse.auction. Auction organizer Mario Everse explained, “Ongering had already featured as a remarkable horse in the first auction of this year. Unfortunately, the sale flopped. Last-minute it was decided to offer him again. And again the bidding was hot, which proves that such quality is always recognized. A great result for the seller.”

Two horses went for 38,000 euros; one of them was the veteran Veyron Lassergut (Hy D’Isigny x Caletto I). The 14-year-old gelding had already gained experience up to the 1.45m level and will continue his career under the Turkish flag. The same amount was realized by Tangelotta (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Zirocco Blue VDL) and she will travel to the Mediteranian region. The five-year-old mare is one of the newest acquisitions of a regular Greek buyer.

An Irish buyer appreciated the solid genes of Rihanna van ’t Schuttershof and paid 34,000 euro. The six-year-old mare is not only a daughter of Kashmir van ’t Schuttershof, she was also bred out of the damline of this legendary stallion. Closely followed was the 12-year-old Laszlo (Larimar x Calato) who went to Canada for 32,000 euros.

Laszlo.

Laszlo was one of several ‘schoolmasters’ in this auction, having already jumped at the international 1.40m level and currently active in 1.20-1.30m level courses. He was described as “a pleasure to ride, wants to be careful, has blood, a good mouth and uphill movements.”

His sire, the Holsteiner stallion Larimar, is famous for passing on good riding qualities to his offspring, and his dam competed at 1.50m level and is out of the same family as numerous 1.60m grand prix horses.

Everse added, “At the end of the evening there were two horses that suddenly caused a fierce bidding duel. That made it exciting for all concerned until the very last moment. The Tangelo daughter Tangelotta was bought by a Greek buyer who had been successful before at several of our auctions. The four-year-old Diacontinus son Diaron was claimed by a buyer from Great Britain.”

The three-year-old palomino Phontaine (Tinka’s Boy x Magic Memphis) stays in the Netherlands for 19,000 euros. The same amount was also paid for the four-year-old stallion Top Gun (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Lancelot). Top Gun is one of two horses to leave for Slovenia. There were also several sales to the Czech Republic, Rumania, Slovakia, Poland, Italy and Germany. The biggest buyer was again the USA with six purchases.

On Tuesday, April 4th, the next auction will be held, focused on free-jumping horses and horses under saddle. “With a satisfied feeling we are looking back to the next round. Coming Monday and Tuesday we hope to compile a fine collection again. Anyone who believes to have something special to offer is invited to enter them via www.youhorse.auction,” Everse concluded.
