Wendy Christoff Captures Top Placings at CDI 3* Calgary

Wendy Christoff won four of the six FEI classes she entered at the CDI 3* Calgary, held June 27-29, 2014, at Anderson Ranch in Calgary, AB.

In the Grand Prix test Christoff of Delta, BC, rode Treffer (Niagara x Haarlem), a 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, to first place with a score of 66.840%.

Second place in the Grand Prix test was awarded to Lindsey Stroh of Beaumont, AB riding Lancelot, a 14-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding sired by Lobster and owned by Vickie Argals, scoring 66.500%. Stroh and Lancelot also won the Grand Prix Freestyle, scoring 69.200%. Second place in the Freestyle went to Gillian Wright of Calgary, AB riding Fritz Baehre’s 14-year-old Trakehner stallion, In Flagranti (Buddenbrock x Kennedy) with 66.075%.

Christoff also rode Di Scansano (De Niro x Rubenstein), her own 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding, to wins in both the Prix St. Georges (69.079%) and the Intermediate I (68.114%) tests.

Second in the Prix St. Georges test went to Gloria Schriever of Langley, BC and Minicooper S (Metternich x Akatschi), her 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding, with a score of 67.105%, while in third place was Shannon Sluser of Glenavon, SK and Flamboyant (Furst Heinrich x Rubinstein I), her 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding, scoring 66.579%. Sandra Oxtoby of Calgary, AB and her own Zedor (Florencio I x Ferro), a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, finished in fourth place scoring 66.579%.

With Di Scansano, Christoff also was victorious in the Intermediate I Freestyle with 72.325%. Sluser and Flamboyant were second with 69.250%, and third place was awarded to Oxtoby and Zedor (67.375%). In fourth position was Roanne Tyson of Victoria, BC, riding her own 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Seiltanz (Sunny Boy x Royal Dance), with a score of 66.500%.

The ground jury for the event consisted of Brenda Minor CAN 4*, Mercedes Campdera MEX 4*, Charlotte Bredahl USA 4*, Carlos Lopes POR 4*, Cesar Torrente COL 3* and steward Linda Miller CAN FEI 2*.
