Ottawa, Ontario — Canadian Olympian Chrisilot Boylen earned admirable results at the CDI 3* Achleiten, held June 14-17 in Austria.

Boylen, a current resident of Rittingen, Germany, contested the Grand Prix division, paired with Gachino, a 13-year-old Baden-Wurttemberger gelding owned by Mr. & Mrs. Hermosilla.

They kicked off the competition in the Grand Prix, taking third place out of an experienced field of 14 with a score of 66.875% before moving on to improve in the Grand Prix Special, receiving second place on a score of 67.600%.

“Gachino has been showing a good consistency and fitness level throughout the last few competitions,” commented Boylen. “He is one of the most talented horses I have ever had the privilege of riding.”

In the Advanced division, Boylen rode Alec Murray’s 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding Don Valentino to an 11th place finish in the Prix St. Georges with 65.700%, and ninth in the Intermediaire I with 66.000%.

Boylen’s success in Austria came after her first international start of the year at the CDI 3* Mariakalnok in Hungary, where she rode Gachino to a fourth place finish in the Grand Prix and second in the Grand Prix Special.

The competition took place at the beautiful Castle Achleiten in Rohr, Austria, home of former international dressage rider Mrs. Sissy Theuer, whose daughter Victoria Max-Theurer dominated both the Advanced and Grand Prix divisions by winning all six classes. The international judging panel at the CDI 3* Achleiten included Evi Eisenhardt (FEI ‘O’ – GER), Gary Rockwell (FEI ‘O’ – USA), Vincenzo Truppa (FEI ‘O’- USA), Katrina Wuest (FEI ‘O’ – GER), Elisabeth Koffmahn (FEI ‘I’ – AUT) and Victoire Mandl (FEI ‘I’ – AUT).
