The Valentine edition of the Youhorse.auction on Tuesday, February 6 turned out to be a hit. Five-year-old Odin was the top seller; the daughter of Il Est Balou x Gaillard de la Pomme was sold to Switzerland for 46,000 euros.

The popularity of talented horses proved universal again for this edition. The 54 horses in the collection received healthy bids from all over the world, including Ireland (five-year-old gelding Ubach Z (Uricas van de Kattevennen x Casall) 40,500 euros); eight to Germany including the six-year-old gelding Quimbim 3 (Quim x Com Air I) for 38,000 euros; and the five-year-old stallion Leonardo W (Leandro VG x Denzel van ‘t Meulenhof) will head to Mexico for the same amount. The four-year-old Ulando van het Paardenhof (El Barone III x Vannan) will travel all the way to South Africa. Eleven horses were sold to the USA.

Canadian buyers picked up the 10-year-old Jolavsca Fortuna (Carrera VDL x Casco), a mare currently showing at the 1.30m level; the nice young five-year-old grey mare Curiosa Z (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Quasimodo Z), and the youngster Chapino (Chopin x Clarimo), a lovely three-year-old stallion.

Auction organizer Mario Everse explained from the sale location in sunny Spain, “The evening went very well! We could welcome many new buyers, but also our regulars were shopping to their heart’s content. At the moment my team and I are on the Sunshine Tour and it is great to meet up again with former auction horses that are doing very well under their new owners. I am constantly approached by happy riders and owners and that is what we are doing it for, of course!”

The next auction takes place on Tuesday, March 5. Visit www.youhorse.auction for more info.
