The accident occurred on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at approximately 7:45 pm in Oliva, south of Valencia, where an Audi Q3 driven by Brash collided with a motorcycle. Also in the car with Brash, who hails from Peebles, Scotland, was 26-year-old equestrian Sira Martínez, the daughter of Paris Saint-Germain soccer team manager Luis Enrique. Both Brash and Martínez escaped the crash without injuries. Week two of the Autumn Mediterranean Equestrian Tour (MET) at the Oliva Nova show facility was underway at the time, where Martínez was competing.

Brash, 40, passed roadside drug and alcohol tests at the scene. The Civil Guard is probing whether the crash was caused by an improper or prohibited U-turn/manoeuvre by the car driver.
