With just over two years to go until the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games (LA28), the Organising Committee has unveiled the official competition timetable. Para Dressage, the equestrian discipline on the Paralympic programme, will take place from 16 to 21 August 2028 across six days of competition.

The timetable for the equestrian competitions at the LA28 Paralympic Games is available here. It has been carefully developed with the climatic conditions in mind to provide the best possible environment for the horses, athletes, officials, and spectators alike.

As with previous Paralympic Games, the timetable remains provisional and may be subject to change up until the Games in 2028.

“Following the comprehensive presentation by LA28 at the FEI General Assembly 2025 and the confirmation of the Olympic competition schedule, the announcement of the Paralympic timetable is another important milestone,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said.

“Para Dressage will officially begin on 14 August with the first horse inspection, one day ahead of the Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony. Competitions will run from 16 to 21 August across six days.

“The schedule is compact, balanced and designed with horse and athlete welfare at its core. Three non-competition days are built in to allow horses and athletes to settle in, prepare and recover, while also providing flexibility should unforeseen circumstances arise.

“We are very pleased with the progress being made towards the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the Organising Committee over the next two years.

“It is also very positive that Para Equestrian will retain the same medal events and quota places as at Paris 2024. As with the Olympic competitions, the Para Dressage events will take place at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Strong foundations are now in place, and we are confident LA28 will deliver exceptional Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events in a truly outstanding venue.”

  • The first horse inspection will take place on the morning of 14 August.
  • Competition begins on 16 August with the Grand Prix A across all five Grades and will continue through to 18 August. The Grand Prix B for all Grades is scheduled for 19 August.
  • Following a rest day on 20 August, during which the second horse inspection will be held in the afternoon, the Para Dressage events will conclude on 21 August with the Grand Prix Freestyle.
  • All information currently available on the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic equestrian events has been published in the dedicated hub on the FEI website.
