West Palm Beach, FL – Canada’s Jill Irving celebrated Valentine’s Day in style – winning the Trilogy Dressage Saddle “Best Seat” award and a beautiful bouquet of roses from Trilogy President Debbie Witty. Irving won the Trilogy “Best Seat” award at the Wellington Classic Dressage Spring Challenge CDI when she and her Dutch Warmblood gelding Delvaux drew the attention of the Trilogy selection committee.
“Jill won the ‘Best Seat’ award for her supple seat, and when we first spotted her at the Wellington Classic Spring Challenge CDI we thought she was a Young Rider,” said Witty. “Jill was shocked and thrilled with the news that she had won. She was even more surprised when we told her we thought she was a Young Rider. In actuality, she is the mother of four so you can imagine this was a true compliment.”
Irving rides with Ashley Holzer and prior to becoming a dressage rider was a Canadian national champion hunter and jumper rider. In addition to winning the ‘Best Seat’ title, and the roses, Witty also presented Irving with an embroidered quarter sheet from Trilogy.
“Out of the hundreds of riders at the Spring Challenge CDI, the Trilogy Best Seat selection committee felt that Jill stood out from the crowd,” said Witty. “Not only did Jill look beautiful in the saddle, but Delvaux was comfortable and happy and had an excellent connection to Jill.”
The Trilogy “Best Seat” award is presented throughout the South Florida dressage circuit to the rider that best fits the following three criteria: effective secure seat; well-fitting saddle that enhances performance for horse and rider; and overall appearance on the horse.
