New Yearโ€™s Eve revellers preparing to attend the December 31st evening edition of the Liverpool International Horse Show were dismayed to learn the event had to be cancelled due to a nearby fire.

The blaze consumed a multi-storey car park close to The Echo Arena where the prestigious event was due to take place. It is reported that 1,600 vehicles were destroyed, leaving hundreds of people stranded in the area. Thankfully, there were no human or horse injuries.

Refunds are being issued for ticket purchases. More information can be found here.
