As communicated during the FEI General Assembly 2025 in Hong Kong, China, a 4-stage bidding process will apply for the FEI World Championships 2030. An overview of the process is set out below to allow potential bidders to plan accordingly.

As was the case for the FEI World Championships 2022 and 2026, bids will be accepted from National Federations/Organising Committees who are interested in hosting the FEI World Championships 2030 in one or more FEI disciplines. The FEI World Championships 2030 for Dressage and Para Dressage should remain combined. Bids for the full “FEI World Equestrian Games” comprising all disciplines will also be considered.

Phase 1 – Mandatory Expression of Interest: Autumn 2026

(exact deadline to be confirmed in a later FEI Update)

Any NF/Organising Committee that wants to submit a formal bid (in Phase 2) must submit an expression of interest in Phase 1. The expression of interest should simply state the following information:

  • Contact details of the relevant NF and/or OC
  • Proposed Venue(s)
  • Discipline(s) that the NF/OC intends to bid for
  • Proposed date(s) of the Championships
  • Confirmation of the Organising Committee entity

The submission of an Expression of Interest is non-binding and does not oblige the NF/OC to bid in Phase 2.

Phase 2 – Bidding: Early 2027

  • A detailed Bid Guide containing an overview of all the requirements/rights/benefits associated with hosting the FEI World Championships 2030 will be available as of early 2027 and a further FEI Update will be issued at that point.
  • Only bids from NFs/Organising Committees, who have previously submitted an Expression of Interest in Phase 1 will be considered in Phase 2.
  • The deadline for submission of bids will be confirmed at the time of publication of the Bid Guide.

Phase 3 – Review of Bids: April – June 2027

  • FEI Initial Review and Shortlisting (if applicable) of Bids.
  • Circulation of draft Host Agreement to (shortlisted) Bidders.
  • Review of Bids by relevant Technical Committees.
  • Presentation of Bids by shortlisted candidates to the FEI Evaluation Commission (at FEI HQ/online).
  • Submission of Host Agreement, signed by NF and OC (pre-condition for allocation).

Phase 4 – Allocation: FEI Board Meeting June 2027 (or November 2027)

  • Allocation decision(s) at in person FEI Board Meeting.
  • Formal announcement of allocation decision(s).
