The 2016 Jaguar Land Rover Bromont CCI3* Three-Day Event, the Todd Sandler Challenge, will take place June 9-12 in the breathtaking hills of Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park in Bromont, Quebec. The Bromont Organizing Committee is proud to welcome Jaguar Land Rover back for the third year as title sponsor of the 2016 event.

This year the event, a perennial favourite among eventers for three decades and the only International Equestrian Federation-sanctioned CCI3*-level competition in Canada, will be welcoming some of the best horse-and-rider combinations from all over North America in the CCI1*, CCI2*, CIC3* and CCI3* divisions. Leading American competitors including Olympian Boyd Martin, past Bromont winner Buck Davidson, and Pan American Games gold medalist Lauren Kieffer will square off against top Canadians including World Equestrian Games silver medalist Selena O’Hanlon and Pan Am Games medalists Jessica Phoenix, Waylon Roberts, and Colleen Loach, all looking to secure a coveted spot on their country’s eventing squad in this last selection trial before the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 5-21.

RETURNING RIDERS LOVE BROMONT
The Jaguar Land Rover Bromont CCI3* holds a special place in the hearts of Canadian eventers. Waylon Roberts, who placed third in the CCI3* in 2015 and will be back this year once again riding Kelecyn Cognac, commented, “It’s in a beautiful part of the country and it’s important to me that we support our flagship Canadian event. I’ve been going there since I was a kid and it’s a really familiar and friendly place. I love the event; the courses are always fair but challenging, and they keep improving it – every year it gets a little better.”

“The course is beautifully built; it’s a very safe-feeling course,” agreed Selena O’Hanlon, who rode Foxwood High (“Woody”) to sixth place in the CCI3* last year, and will challenge for the new CIC3* Stuart R. Horne Canadian Eventing Championships this time around. She appreciates the family aspect of this event. “It’s an event close enough to home that a lot of my friends and family can come to it. We all stay together and cook together, so that’s really fun,” she explained.

Colleen Loach placed second in the CIC2* at Bromont last year aboard her striking grey Pan Am mount Qorry Blue D’Argouges. The pair will move up in 2016 to the Canadian Championship CIC3* division. “For me, Bromont is a special show because it’s near our home town [Dunham]. I really love competing there – it’s always a very well-run event. I think Derek [di Grazia] does a great job with the course. It’s always challenging, but very fair and inviting to the horses.”
