Meg Krueger, who was elected president of Equestrian Canada at the Annual General Meeting on October 13th, 2017, has left her home in Colorado, where she resided for the past two years while she held the position of as COO of the Colorado Horse Park in Denver, to get re-established in Ontario. Krueger has lived in the US for the last decade, also working in Wellington, FL, for Equestrian Sport Productions as a strategic business analyst and management consultant before coming VP of sales and sponsorship.
Krueger is currently residing with family in Mississauga, but is not sure where she will ultimately land. “I don’t have plans set; I’ve got a few opportunities I am looking at but have not made any decisions yet,” she said. “Honestly, the work I’m doing with EC has taken up a lot of time so I am happy to be able to spend a little more time focusing on it. Probably this quarter I’ll make further plans.”
An accomplished rider who has taken part in hunter, jumper, trail, sorting, and other sports over the years, Krueger still finds time in her busy schedule for riding. “I was reunited with my English horse in November. We were apart for quite a while and it is so wonderful to have him back,” she said. “I have a western horse in Colorado; I have plans to bring her back probably in the next two months, but it’s hard to ship out of Colorado this time of year.”
One of the first items on the agenda for the new board of directors is how to fill the two empty board seats. “The board is working through that ‒ there was a revision needed to the terms of reference that was amended at the December board meeting. The next step happens at the January 20th board meeting in Montreal where the plan for recruitment will be discussed.”
