The following bursaries are now taking applications to support athletes looking for learning opportunities and financial support for international competition, sport science, training, equipment and sport education.

NEW The Philip Parkes Memorial Coaching Scholarship – Dressage

Philip Parkes was a professional dressage rider and licensed coach until his unexpected death in 2023. Philip recognized that coach licensing helps maintain a high standard of coaching, which is essential in a discipline as precise and demanding as dressage. The goal of the Philip Parkes Memorial Coaching Scholarship is to help bridge the financial gap faced by aspiring and/or established dressage coaches who are interested in advancing their coaching certifications. This scholarship offers grants to assist coaches in pursuing their Competition Coach Specialist – Dressage (CCS) Certification through the NCCP program and will provide $1,000 towards CCS. Application Deadline is December 31, 2024.

The Brosda Olympic Bursary – Dressage

As a lasting legacy in memory of Élisabeth Brosda, The Brosda Olympic Bursary is designed to help dressage athletes develop the skill and determination to represent Canada at the Olympic Games. The selected athlete will receive $10,000 to go towards competitions, sport science, training, equipment and sport education. Application deadline is January 1, 2025

Bridging the Gap Training Bursary – Para Dressage

The Bridging the Gap Training Bursary is intended to develop the next generation of Canadian Para Dressage athletes with a unique training and development opportunity with Paralympian Lauren Barwick, Canada’s most decorated Para Dressage athlete. The athlete awarded the bursary will receive two weeks (5 lessons per week) of private training with Lauren, accommodation, horse board, and an EC $5,000 financial bursary to support with transport and meal expenses. Application deadline is January 1, 2025

Young Horse Development Program – Dressage

Young Horse Development Program – Dressage for 4, 5, 6 and 7-year-old horses promotes and encourages the proper development of young horses using the training scale, identifies talent, encourages owners to keep horses in training with Canadian athletes and prepares horses for future international success. Application deadline is January 1, 2025
