Dlin, a native of Spruce Grove, AB, who now resides in Wellington, FL, now has a total of 39 World Cup points after adding 20 points from his Summer Festival victory to the 19 points he received for winning the $70,000 Grand Prix Jumping du Quebec World Cup Qualifier on July 8 at the CSI 2*-W Blainville Jumping International in Quebec.  His partner for both wins was Odyssey Venture Inc.’s Catwalk, a 10-year-old Canadian-bred Oldenburg mare sired by the late Rio Grande.

“I’m ecstatic with how my horse has been performing.  She jumped phenomenally at Palgrave and handled both rounds very well,” said Dlin, who also contested the Pan American Games Selection Trials with Catwalk, finishing fifth overall.  “I was especially pleased to have won at Palgrave because it was against a very tough field of competitors.”

Currently tied for second place in the Canadian League standings with 22 points apiece are Ainsley Vince of Milton, ON, and Frankie Chesler-Ortiz of Orangeville, ON.  After gaining 16 points for her second place finish at Blainville, Vince finished 13th in the $100,000 Caledon Equestrian Park World Cup Qualifier to earn an additional six points with Cantero Z, an eight-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned by Iron Horse Farm.

Meanwhile, Chesler-Ortiz earned 12 points for her fifth place finish at the Blainville International before adding 10 points for eighth place in the $100,000 Caledon Equestrian Park World Cup Qualifier.  Her partner on both occasions was Ranville, the nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Sher-Al Farm.

Toronto’s Elissa Reisman is in fourth place with the 13-year-old Holsteiner stallion Iveena S, owned by Taboo International Inc.  The duo earned nine points for finishing ninth in Blainville, and followed up with a fifth place result in Palgrave for an additional 12 points.

Mark Samuel of Toronto, ON, is in fifth place with 19 points after finishing second behind Dlin at the Summer Festival riding Darios V, a 16-year-old selle francais gelding owned by Chadburn Holdings Inc.  Tied for sixth place with 14 points each are Amy Millar of Perth, ON, and Laurie Bucci of Mont St-Hilaire, QC.

The next event on the Canadian League World Cup calendar is the $75,000 World Cup Qualifier on September 2 at the CSI-W Canadian Country Classic Week 2 in Halton Hills, ON, followed by the $100,000 Canada Cup Final and World Cup Qualifier on September 23 at the CSI3*-W Tournament of Champions in Palgrave, ON.
