Three national equestrian championships and $100,000 in prize money highlight this week’s Eventing Championships at Galway Downs Equestrian in Temecula, California. Close to 400 horses have arrived at the 242-acre Galway Downs venue, with over over 100 of them entered in the highly-competitive international divisions running from November 1-5. Competitors hail from Canada, Texas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon and California.

Three National titles are up for grabs:

2023 USEF CCI2*-L Eventing National Championships
2023 USEF CCI4*-L Eventing National Championships
2023 USEF Eventing Young Rider National Championships, presented by USEA.

The international competitive action begins the morning of Thursday, Nov. 2 with the dressage phase, cross-country on Friday and the show jumping conclusion on Saturday. The national divisions also start with dressage on Thursday and conclude with show jumping on Sunday, Nov. 5.

For Canada, the provinces of Ontario and Alberta will represent the maple leaf at the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championship. The Canadian athletes will compete for two championship titles: CCI1*-L and CCI3*-L. The Canadian team that will contest the 2023 USEF Eventing Young Rider Championship is the following:

 

The Canadian team will be supported by chef d’équipe Katherine Ziegler (Alberta) and Selena O’Hanlon (Ontario).
