Equestrian Canada (EC) is pleased to announce the athletes who will represent the red and white in the CDIO 3* and CDIO-U25 Nations Cup, taking place March 15-20, 2022, during the 10th week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) in Wellington, FL.

Both veteran and up-and-coming Canadian athletes will compete against elite dressage athletes from around the globe in an unique, team-based setting. The Canadian Dressage Team for the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) Nations Cup Wellington is:

CDIO 3* Team

 

“The team selected for the AGDF CDIO3* Nations Cup is full of strong combinations who have delivered top performances for our country time and time again. All have worked tremendously hard, with the support of family, friends and sponsors to prepare for this event” said Chef d’Équipe and EC Senior Manager Dressage and Olympic/Paralympic Program Christine Peters, who will be supporting the team along with Veterinarian Dr. Alan Manning and Equine Therapist Dr. Usha Knabe. “We are extremely proud to have them represent the maple leaf. Canada is up for the challenge” she added.

First launched in 2017, the CDIO-U25 Nations Cup will return at AGDF, providing athletes age of 25 or under with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the team format. Team Canada will be composed of the following youth riders:

Carier Bergeron and Creech-Terauds enter Wellington Nations Cup ranked second and 11th, respectively, on the FEI U25 Dressage Rankings.

“I’m honored and very excited to be the chef again this year for the CDIO-U25 team. I love these two, they are dedicated, serious and extremely kind young women. Both have super horses, trainers and support around them. They will be serious contenders for the podium” said the CDIO-U25 Chef d’Equipe Denielle Gallagher-Lagriffon, who will support the team along with Dr. Manning and Dr. Knabe.
