Equestrian Canada (EC) is pleased to release the selection criteria that will be used to select the Canadian dressage, eventing, jumping and para dressage athletes for the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) World Championships that will take place in Aachen, Germany Aug 11-23, 2026.
Aachen (GER) plays host to the FEI World Championships 2026 for the disciplines of dressage, driving, eventing, jumping, para-dressage and vaulting. The 2026 Aachen Worlds will also be the first qualifier of the quadrennial for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the disciplines of dressage, eventing, jumping and para dressage. Aachen has an incredible history of hosting the world having been the host of six World Championships and nine European Championships. The Aachen venue hosted its first horse show in 1924, and its first jumping Nations Cup in 1929. Aachen is an equestrian mecca that will see the world converge for two weeks of incredible sport.
“The 2026 World Championships is a critical competition for Canada as we build towards Los Angeles 2028 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games” said EC’s High Performance Director James Hood. “This is the mid-quad test of skill for our horses, riders and support teams on our path to LA.”
