After another successful year in 2023, our horse show team is hard at work planning for our 102nd Royal Horse Show this November 1st – 10th. With new competition offerings and a move back to a CSI5*-W, this year’s show is sure to be another iconic event. Showcasing the ‘best of the best’ in over thirty breeds and divisions, we will crown more Canadian champions than any other event. Whether you’re a fierce competitor, or simply a lover of horses, the Royal Horse Show has something for all.  Start planning your Road to the Royal now!

In the interest of providing national championship competitions which are relevant and foster the growth of equestrian sport across Canada, the following changes will be implemented at the 2024 Royal Horse Show:

The Pony Jumper Division will be removed from the 2024 Royal Horse Show schedule. No other competitions will be inserted in its place at this time. The Royal Horse Show Committee will review this decision at the completion of the 2024 Horse Show. There is opportunity for this division to return should its relevance and participation increase nationally.

Due to low participation in the National Championship U25 division, The Royal Horse Show will be revising how they offer championship level competition for Canadian U25 athletes. As this is an EC program, The Royal will be working with the Jumping Committee to ensure opportunities are available for as many athletes as possible. More details will follow in the first quarter of 2024.

Due to the increased interest in hunter divisions from Western athletes, the quota of qualified entries will be increased to three (3) in 2024. If one or more of the three positions are not fulfilled, the next qualified entry from the National Rankings will be selected. All other current regional quotas will remain the same.

The Passing of Two Royal Ambassadors

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of two beloved Royal Ambassadors at the close of 2023. Turbo and Winston, both larger-than-life figures, left us within a month of each other. While our hearts mourn for their families, we will forever cherish the indelible mark they’ve left.

In 2015, Turbo initiated the legacy of being an animal Ambassador for The Fair, redirecting our city’s focus to celebrating the animals when the country coming to the city.

Following in his footsteps, Winston, with his unforgettable presence, continued this tradition impeccably, for the 100th Anniversary of our Fair. We express gratitude for their dedicated service, as the celebration of animals lies at the heart of our mission.

Rest in peace, dear boys; your legacy will endure.
