Frankie Chesler-Ortiz’ retired grand prix partner, Ravenna Z, was euthanized last weekend, with a three-week-old foal at her side.
Ravenna Z carried Chesler-Ortiz to the Canadian Equestrian Show jumping Team at the age of 17, making her the youngest Canadian to represent Canada in Nations’ Cup competition. Chesler-Ortiz and Ravenna Z represented Canada in eight Nations’ Cup classes. Their union was solid and inseparable making her the mare that the family could not part with even when offers to purchase her came forth.
In addition to the three-week-old colt, the Hannoverian mare leaves behind a two-year-old colt to carry on her bloodlines.
