Pamela Law, chair of Jump Canada (EC Jumping Committee), has advised that the Jump Canada Medal series “will be with us for the foreseeable future.” As reported in the December issue of Horse Sport, there had been some concern about the future of the series due to low entries in parts of the country. After receiving considerable input from trainers and riders at the Royal Winter Fair in November regarding ways to boost participation, “the Medal will remain in our ‘stable’ of Jump Canada programs offered to equestrian competitors, hopefully for a long while to come,” assured Law. “The specs for the class have been changed somewhat and we hope that, by making these changes, we will spark renewed interest in the Medal. Our goal is to make the Jump Canada Medal a relevant, up-to-date equitation class to further the education of our junior riders going forward.”
