The legendary show jumping stallion and sire Quito de Baussy (Jalisco B x Prince du Cy) died on October 6th at the age of 33.
With Frenchman Eric Navet in the irons, Quito de Baussy won the individual and team gold at the 1990 World Championships in Stockholm, SWE, and was named European champion the following year. The pair also won team bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ESP, team bronze at the 1993 European Championsips, and team silver at the 1994 World Championships in the Hague, NED ‒ the most successful performance stallion of his era.
Quito de Baussy, a Selle Français, was retired from competition in 1995 and became a prepotent sire, with some top offspring including Jumpy de Kreisker, T.T Frezia, Heres de Reve, and Quality Boy.
