Aurora, ON – Horse Sport is proud to present Olympic Gold medalist Heike Kemmer on September 25, 26 & 27 at Stirling Farm in King City, ON.

Heike earned her first gold medals at the 1983 European Championships for Young Riders and has remained consistently competitive over the last three decades. Most recently, she was a member of the German gold medal team at the 2008 Olympics where she also won individual bronze.

Heike Kemmer believes in the classic way of riding. Her longstanding cooperation with internationally renowned teachers has given her the necessary knowledge to foster each horse according to its special abilities. Variety in training is of particular importance to Heike: “Variety is my principle”. In addition to daily riding sessions she motivates show and training horses with a combination of work on the double lunge, work in hand, training on the treadmill, free running and lots exercise in fresh air. “Only a well-balanced and content horse can be built up to reach the Grand Prix league”.

As part of Horse Sport’s commitment to Canadian dressage, a select group of seven riders from a variety of backgrounds will be offered the opportunity to participate in the three day clinic free of charge. Interested parties should submit an application to janstey@horsesport.com by June 30th including level of training, recent competition results and any other relevant information.

The clinic is presented in association with Saddlefit4Life®, a proud sponsor of Olympian Heike Kemmer and all of her horses!  Heike belongs to the Saddlefit4Life® network, recognizing the positive difference that innovation, philosophy and fit in motion has made in the performance and well-being of her mounts. Schleese Saddlery Service (North American partner) is thrilled to play a key role in securing Heike’s appearance for the first time in Canada for this exciting clinic.

Saddlefit4Life® principles and fitting philosophy are taught worldwide to equine professionals committed to the comfort and protection of horse and rider in motion by Jochen Schleese, CMS. Jochen works closely with Chief Trainer Hannes Mueller teaching saddle fitting as part of the faculty at the German National Riding School in Warendorf. He recently appeared in DVM Gerd Heuschmann’s documentary “If Horses Could Speak”.
