As we celebrate National Coaches Week, we are thrilled to share some exciting news from the Ontario Equestrian (OE) coaching team!
Ruth Allum, OE’s High-Performance Lead and Performance Advisor for the GRIT program, has officially earned her NCCP Advanced Coaching Diploma through the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario — a remarkable achievement and a significant milestone in equestrian coaching in Canada.
The Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD) is the pinnacle of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), designed to prepare coaches to lead athletes to success at the Provincial, National, and International levels. Throughout this rigorous program, Ruth has collaborated with top-tier mentors, content specialists, and sport leaders across a wide range of disciplines nationwide.
Ruth’s accomplishment positions her among the very first equestrian coaches in Canada to receive this elite designation. Her education and experience through the ACD will play a vital role in shaping the future of equestrian coach education. By integrating cutting-edge methodologies, sport science, and multi-sport best practices, Ruth will help elevate the standard of coaching and athlete development across our sport.
This achievement is a testament to Ruth’s leadership, critical thinking, and commitment to safe, effective, and progressive coaching in Canada.
