Toronto Equestrian is proud to announce the expansion of its North riding school to a new premier location in King Township, Ontario. Building on the success of its Claremont location, the expanded facility will bring top notch riding instruction, a hand‑picked herd of school horses, and certified coaches closer to riders in King and the surrounding region.
“This is a strategic move for Toronto Equestrian, and one that has been several years in the making,” says Julianne Clifford, who co-owns the business with Sue Iwan. “Our new location allows us to deliver an expanded and comprehensive riding school curriculum to riders in Toronto, as well as in Aurora, King, and surrounding areas. This will not only afford our existing ridership greater opportunities, it will also allow us to extend these opportunities to new riders looking for recreational riding instruction.”
Toronto Equestrian North is powered by a small fleet of horses and ponies that are hand selected for their reliability, temperament, and adaptability. It is also home to the business’ retired horses. The new facility will support the growing needs of the riding school, and allow for the procurement and development of new horses to support both the Toronto Equestrian North and Toronto Equestrian Downtown herds, ensuring the continuity and longevity of the business.
“A move was imperative for our business if we wished to see it grow, and to meet the challenges of a competitive marketplace where good school horses are few and far between” says Iwan. “We have long recognized the need to develop our own herd, and create our own opportunities. The new facility will allow us to do just that.”
In addition to stellar programs and a talented herd, Toronto Equestrian is supported by a diverse and exceptional team of certified instructors whose backgrounds span disciplines from hunter/jumper, dressage, and eventing and focus on individualized rider development plans. “An expanded Toronto Equestrian North will allow us to continue to attract skilled coaches and instructors, and to provide for greater development opportunities for this team,” says Clifford. “It’s a win all around.”
Toronto Equestrian North’s new location is at 15134 Dufferin Street, and offers a top tier equestrian infrastructure in a beautiful setting. On‑site amenities include a 30-stall barn, a large attached indoor arena, heated tack rooms and viewing lounge, a large outdoor sand ring and grass field, hacking trails, ample paddock space, and grooming stalls. The expansive property was carefully chosen to offer riders the tranquility of a rural setting with many amenities. “The move to the new facility allows us to offer more options to our riders, including group lessons, introductory courses, an in-house schooling show series, and an expanded part-board and leasing program,” says Iwan.
The new King location welcomes students from eight years of age and older, with programs suitable for riders new to the sport, as well as serious equestrian enthusiasts looking to deepen their training.
