It was an International Ring victory for American rider Will Simpson on opening day of the ‘Pan American’, presented by Rolex, running June 26-29. Aboard the bay gelding Chacco P, the pair bested 49 other competitors over Mexican FEI course designer Anderson Lima’s track while posting the quickest clear round in a time of 57.88 seconds. Fellow US rider Kyle King had ro settle for second place riding Kayenne Z, while Canadian Mario Deslauriers was third with Costa Quick PS.

“On a good day, with a good horse, there is no better place to be in the world than the International Ring at Spruce Meadows,” said Simpson.

Jumping highlights at the ‘Pan American’ Tournament include the Canadian Utilities Cup 1.55m on Friday, Friends of the Meadows Cup 1.50m on Saturday, and the West Canadian Cup 1.50m and AON Grand Prix 1.60m on Sunday. The final week of top international show jumping at Spruce Meadows, the ‘North American’, runs July 2-6.
