Mario Everse predicted in September that the October edition of Youhorse.auction would be one for the history books — and this week, that promise was more than fulfilled! The Comme Il Faut daughter Carambia BP shattered the auction record with a final sale price of €115,000.
After a top sale of €81,500 on the first night, the bar was raised even higher on Wednesday evening, thanks to the eight-year-old Westfalen mare Caramia BP (Comme Il Faut x Coriano). Undisclosed Canadian buyers set their sights on the mare, who has show experience up to the 1.45m level. The catalogue describes her as possessing “a lot of quality, a big heart and a strong desire to do a good job. She is also suitable for Children and Junior riders.”
Caramia’s sire Comme il Faut, the son of Olympic horses Cornet Obolensky and Ratina Z, had a successful career under Marcus Ehning. More than 20 of his offspring have already broken through at the 1.60m level. Dam Cheyenne 844 (Coriano x Alcatraz) competed in the 1.40m divisions.
The Youhorse.auction team is thrilled with the results, as Everse explains. “Incredible! We’ve had two fantastic evenings. We had great confidence in the collection and it was amazing to see interest coming from all over the world again. We are incredibly grateful for the trust placed in us by both the owners of the horses and the buyers. Of course, we hope the new owners will achieve great success with their new purchases!”
Following the first auction night, more horses are heading abroad after Wednesday’s sales. The five-year-old chestnut mare O-Abby VDB (Kallas x Aganix du Seigneur) was sold for €30,000 and will be moving to Germany. The twelve-year-old Helsinki O (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x Indoctro) goes to Turkey for €29,000. Young talent Razzle Dazzle (Mattias x Kenwood) is set to start a new career in the United States, while experienced showjumping horses Marley (Harley VDL x Unaniem) is bound for Great Britain.
The next edition of Youhorse.auction is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5. Selection and video days will take place on Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15, at Stal Everse in Waddinxveen.
