The 2023 Pan American Games will take place in Santiago, Chile from October 20 – November 5, 2023. Held every four years in the year before the Summer Olympic Games, the Pan Am Games play host to 42 countries and see thousands of athletes competing in a variety of summer sports.
The first edition of the games was held in 1951 in Buenos Aires with equestrian being included in their inception. Canada has hosted the games three times – in 1967 and 1999 in Winnipeg, MB, and 2015 in Toronto, ON.
In order to participate, all athletes must be entered by their National Olympic Committee. The dressage selection criteria for Canadian athletes are now available on the Equestrian Canada (EC) website.
