The large number of quality horses caused Youhorse.auction to decide that the June auction needed an extra day. The result? More than a million euro in sold horses; splendid results with an unusual auction topper. It was N-Dominantje (Dominator Z x Calvados), the same horse that was sold one month earlier and for the same amount: 66,000 euro. This impressive four-year-old will go to the USA.

“Occasionally we get buyers who do not pay their dues, like any other auction. That is rotten luck, but in this way we managed to make it all right again,” says Mario Everse who, together with Alan Waldman, are organizers of Youhorse.auction.

N-Dominantje’s seller was pleased with the result. “When such a horse is put up for auction again, people may not trust it. Why was the horse not paid for? Is there something wrong with it? But I decided to try again. I have a lot of confidence in this horse and in Youhorse.auction and it worked out alright.”

There was a lot of interest in the showjumping horses on June 6 and 7. On day 1 the best-selling horse was Norway VZ (Aganix du Seigneur x Mr.Blue) who went for 34,000 euro. An Olympic rider just missed out on that one, but returned the second day and claimed the three-year-old stallion Olivier (Jordan x Vigo d’Arsouilles).

Some of the three-year-olds had a lot of fans. Asca-Lady S Z (Asca Z x Carolus II) went to Germany for 45,000 euro, while Sorella van de Brouwershoeve (Toulon x Kannan) will be stabled in Belgium for 40,000 euro. Both mares show exceptional showjumping qualities.

Americans bought a total of eight horses, including the striking five-year-old chestnut Mercurius IV S (Zambesi TN) for 32,000 euro. One of the three horses going to Mexico is Phytagoras van ’t Laarhof (Jewel’s Diamant) for 30,000 euro. The buyers were a varied lot, with sales to 23 different countries including South Africa, Bulgaria, Turkey and Argentina.

One horse was sold to Canadian interests, the seven-year-old grey gelding Chalid. Currently jumping 1.20m level courses, he displays lots of natural scope. His sire is the NRPS licensed stallion Carcassonne D.N. (Cardento) and his dam is E.Fiolita II D.N, who carries the sport horse genes of Nabab de Reve and Renville.

The 24th edition of Youhorse.auction is planned for July 2-5, again with youngsters and horses under saddle. The 25th edition July 30 to August 2 is focused on breeding, with foals and broodmares. Visit the website here.
