Audrey Roberts & Capetown (aka Dez, pictured above)
Correct:
– Generous release
– Nice upper body and focused on where you are going
– Great flat back and eye is level
Needs Improvement:
– Perhaps a shorter rein to avoid the loop
– The parallel foot could be fixed by letting the stirrup come forward and putting your weight on your heel
– Stay a little closer to your saddle for the height of the jump
Overall: B-
You so look the part and doing these minor fixes will make it a photo finish!
Audra Ahl & Gunnar
Correct:
– I like your release for the oxer
– Following nicely and in the middle of your horse
– Leg appears to be supportive
Needs Improvement:
– A little more weight in your heel would relax the knee and place the leg more effectively
– You could also square up your contact by bringing your left hand back and up to the side
Overall: B
You appear to be a determined, disciplined rider with an overall positive look.
Lauren Ashley White & Forest
Correct:
– A long good release
– Nicely in the centre of your horse
– A nice upper body following over the jump
Needs Improvement:
– Release needs to be pushed into the neck and not floating above the crest
– Cannot see the lower leg but feel that it is too far back
– You seem too high out of the saddle for the low jump
Overall: B-
You have a beautiful horse with a good jump; enjoy the ride, as you have a lot of potential!
Lin Haag & Mystical
Correct:
– You have an excellent release, no interference with your mount’s mouth
– Lower leg is good and where it should be right underneath for solid support
Needs Improvement:
– You need to close the upper body and move closer to your mount, as it has given you a roach to your back
– By coming down a little it will bring you closer to the tack and drop your eye level
Overall: B
Keep on smiling, as you are totally enjoying the ride. You have a lot of positives!
Tiahana Bible
Correct:
– You have a very good release
– I like your upper body elevated just enough for the jump
– Very focused with the jump and what is ahead
Needs Improvement:
– Stirrups at least two holes longer will put your legs in a perfect position
– Knee relaxed and heel down will greatly strengthen your position and your ride
Overall: B-
You will so improve your position with this easy fix, as you have a great look! (Note: Please take cups off the standards above the rail, as it could be hazardous.)
