The June Youhorse.auction was an extremely successful start to the summer season. The strong collection raised a lot of interest, which translated into bids from all over the world. The Vigo d’Arsouilles daughter Jelka ruled supreme and for 60,000 euro she will move to Canada.

A content Mario Everse says, “We had a real good auction. We are extremely pleased about that for it was a special achievement in the current, competitive auction landscape. Also this time we had lots again to suit every purse and many of the horses got sold. Auctions are always exciting and at the last moment there were new bidders.”

The highest price was paid by undisclosed Canadian buyers for Jelka, a nine-year-old mare combining the popular blood from Vigo d’Arsouilles and Heartbreaker who is a half-sister to Lorenzo de Luca’s 1.55m grand prix horse Homer de Reve.

That proven genes will always be appreciated was confirmed again by Golden Chaco. There was a winning bid of 50,000 euro for the eight-year-old son of Eldorado van de Zeshoek and Chacco Blue. The gelding was almost on his way to Chile, but at the last moment German buyers snapped him up.

Chile was, however, successful in the fight for the five-year-old French Fernando. This gelding is sired by For Pleasure out of the full sister to Cornet Obolensky. South America was also very active at this auction, with Ecuador claiming the three-year-old Parel de Muze (I’m Special de Muze x Vingino) for 36,000 euro, later followed by sales to Uruguay and the Dominican Republic.

Three horses will perform under the Mexican flag, including the three-year-old Espage (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Lux Z) for 20,000 euro. The USA purchased eight horses; the two five-year-old mares Coco (Obos Quality 004 x Benbulbin) and Next Generation VK (Falaise de Muze x Indoctro) went for 24,000 and 22,000 euro, respectively.

There is no resting on its laurels for the organization that has to prepare for the next instalment of the Youhorse.auction series. Everse says, “We are happy to move on and are looking forward to the next auction on 4 July. We hope to again offer a great group of horses under saddle and loose jumping talents. The collection will be selected on on 12 and 13 June in Waddinxveen. People with a remarkable talent in their stables can enter him or her via www.youhorse.auction.”
