Anne Gribbons, US dressage technical adviser, will resign from her post when her contract expires November 30th, at the end of her three-year term. At 65, Gribbons has said she would prefer to spend her remaining five eligible years as an international judge, as 70 is the mandatory retirement age for the position. In addition, she will continue to work with the FEI Dressage Committee, helping to develop policy for the sport.
A replacement has yet to be determined. Gribbons’ successor will be decided by the high performance committee and by riders. The job description may even change moving forward.
Gribbons is credited putting in place a development coaching structure. It is hoped this system will help improve future Olympic standings, after the US Team finished sixth at the London Games.
