The owners of famed dressage stallion, Totilas, engaged in a bidding war at the 2012 Oldenburg autumn elite auction in Vechta, Germany, on October 6th, to bring home one of his own.
Paul Schockemohle and Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff paid €200,000 for the Totilas foal, Total Recall, bidding against American Jamie White-Welling, who is married to Smallville actor Tom Welling.
The sale of the colt, who is out of a Sandro Hit/Figaro, equalled a previous sale record, set last year by the colt foal A La Dressage (by Ampere out of a Sandro Hit/Donnerhall) sold to Jerich, the sponsors of Dutch Olympic dressage medallist Adelinde Cornelissen. Before that, the record price was €127,000 (paid in 2007 for Sabeltanz, a Sandro Hit/Wolkentanz II colt).
