Spruce Meadows President & CEO Linda Southern-Heathcott released the following letter regarding 2022 tournament dates and a delay in ticket sales:

“It has certainly been a challenging two years since the Spruce Meadows closure due to the pandemic in 2020/ 2021.

As you are aware, due to the government restrictions, our 2021 season in-person attendance was limited to only the ‘Masters’ Tournament with 2,000 vaccinated fans. It was a huge effort from the Spruce Meadows team to be able to host the 2021 season and our whole team was so excited to see the horses competing and the fans in the stands.

As we write this to you and look to what the 2022 season may bring, governments are closing the borders again and we are concerned about the new COVID variant – Omicron.

We are very aware that you–our dedicated fans–would like to plan your attendance for the Spruce Meadows show jumping season. But I hope you can understand how difficult the ongoing pandemic makes it to predict the future and what we can safely offer to our fans.

There are so many details to ensure we can offer a great fan experience in a safe environment. While we are in ‘wait mode’ for the easing of restrictions by the government, we hope you would understand our decision to delay the release of our season ticket offering until the spring of 2022.

We can however provide you with the dates of our show jumping events.

‘National’ | June 16-19 (general admission – festival seating available)
‘North American’ | July 7-10 (general admission – festival seating available)
‘Masters’ | September 8-11 (reserved seats will be available)

May we take this opportunity to wish you and yours a lovely holiday season and we look forward to working with you in the spring to secure your spot on the International Ring for great show jumping.

We cannot wait to see you!”
