Jump Canada is pleased to announce exciting plans for national series championships and finals in 2014.
After sending out a call to competitions to host the 2014 Jump Canada national championships and finals, the following locations have been finalized:
The renowned Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, ON has been chosen to host the Canadian Show Jumping Championships, the Jump Canada National Talent Squad Championships, and the Jump Canada Medal Final.
The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair has a longstanding history with Jump Canada championships and finals. In 2014, it will continue to offer top-notch facilities, world-class judges and course designers, and the extra-special atmosphere that has helped to make the horse show a hit for over 90 years.
In the recently released North American Riders Group (NARG) Top 25 of 2013, which ranks horse shows based on criteria like prize money, prize ceremonies, and quality of footing, courses, and stabling, the Royal Agricultural Winter Fairwas awarded fourth overall, making it the top-ranked indoor show in North America.
Jump Canada is honoured to recognize its longstanding partnership with the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and looks forward to another exciting event in November 2014.
Jump Canada has awarded the 2014 CET Medal Finals, to the Royal West, produced by Rocky Mountain Show Jumping. The Royal West horse show will be held this October at the Agrium Western Event Centre in Calgary, AB. The venue is currently being constructed with a completion date set for June, and will also be the new home of the Calgary Stampede.
This highly-anticipated new competition was conceptualized and brought to fruition by CET veteran and Canadian Olympian, John Anderson, who also operates Calgary’s popular Rocky Mountain Show Jumping venue. Anderson’s plans for the Royal West include a focus on international show jumping, complemented by national hunter and jumper classes, breed-specific competition, indoor eventing, and other equine-related entertainment. He also plans to add Western Canadian flair through barrel racing, “Mutton Busting,” and much more.
Having the Royal West host the 26th edition of the CET National Medal Finals (which will mark the first time in history the final takes place outside of the Toronto’s Royal Agricultural Winter Fair) is especially meaningful, since Anderson’s mother, Barbara, was the founder of the CET Medal series. During the 25th anniversary of the CET National Medal Finals at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fairin 2013, Barbara was honoured for her longstanding commitment to the next generation of Canadian riders.
Jump Canada is pleased to recognize this exciting new competition, and eagerly anticipates its inauguration in the fall of 2014.
