Paul Halpern, who has guided Roman K throughout his young show jumping career, claimed victory in the Seven and Eight-Year-Old Division. Roman K was bred by Ashland Farm, located just west of Ottawa in Ashton, ON. Roman K’s sire, Yavari, was a thoroughbred stallion that competed in the 1995 Pan American Games for Puerto Rico under the saddle of Alex Earle. His dam, Rivoli K, is by the famous stallion, Voltaire. A registered Canadian Sport Horse stallion, Roman K first enjoyed time in the spotlight as the winner of the Governor General’s Cup at the 2005 Royal Horse Show where he was handled by breeder Paul Morgan. Interestingly, Roman K was the only Canadian-bred horse entered in the Seven and Eight-Year-Old Division.
