Preparations for the FEI World Championships 2022 Eventing and Driving are in full swing and the Organising Committee is working at full capacity. The online ticketing service and the accommodation booking sector are now live.
The fact that an event of this calibre will be held at the Pratoni del Vivaro, on the outskirts of Rome, the Eternal City, plays a role and judging by the number of requests for information coming in, the number of foreign guests expected to attend the event promises to be very significant.
Anticipation is growing and the good news for fans is that as far as the Castelli Romani facility is concerned, they won’t have to wait until next September to experience those moments of great sport and excitement that top level eventing and driving competitions always guarantee.
In fact, two important international events will be organised at Pratoni del Vivaro in mid-May qualified as Test Events for the FEI World Equestrian Championships 2022 Eventing and Driving. Four months before the main event of the year, it is easy to predict that the most important riders and drivers on the international stage will take advantage of this opportunity to test their horses at the venue that will be the stage for the World Championships.
The first Test Event planned for Eventing will be held from 11 – 15 May. The importance of this CCI4*-S is increased by the fact that it marks the start of the prestigious FEI Eventing Nations Cup 2022™ and will also assign the medals for the Italian Eventing Champions.
The Driving Test Event (18 – 22 May) will consist of an International competition at 360° involving all the categories in this discipline: Single (H1), Pair (H2) and Four-in-Hand (H4 as in World Championships), both with horses and ponies.
By the time the Test Event is held, all work on training and competition areas will have been completed, as will the stables and many infrastructures that have been restored using the most modern and sophisticated materials. The Test Event will also be interesting for ensuring that all the primary technical services work perfectly during the competitions.
Next September will be unforgettable with the Equestrian Sports Centre in Rocca di Papa hosting the FEI World Championships 2022 Eventing and Driving at the Pratoni del Vivaro, with eight days of competition over two weekends.

The Championships will start with Eventing (15 – 18 September) to then finish with the Driving (22 – 25 September). The format for these two world championships is the classic one, with the first two days reserved to the dressage test (15 and 16 September for Eventing and 22 and 23 September for Driving) followed by the spectacular cross-country tests (respectively the cross country and the marathon) on the Saturdays (14 and 24 September) to finish with the final tests on the Sundays (18 and 25 September). It is on the Sundays that medals will be won with eventers competing in the show jumping class and drivers in cones test.
