you're listening to an article from horse sport.com. no national hunter/jumper points or national finals in 2020 by: ec communications |. equestrian canada has advised that due to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, hunter/jumper points and programs are suspended for this year. equestrian canada (ec) would like to share important updates around the resumption of ec sanctioned competitions upon the conclusion of the in-person event suspension that will expire on june 30, 2020. due to the impacts of the coronavirus (covid-19), provinces/territories vary in their state of readiness to return to training and competition. this has effected athletes and competition organizers alike and means that a level playing field for all participants will not be achievable nationwide. advertisement scroll to continue with content the ec jumping committee have thoroughly considered this problem and made the difficult decision to recommend that no national points should count or be awarded for the 2020 competition season. ec has accepted this recommendation and agreed to the following:. points accumulation. to comply with covid-19 safety protocols, entries will be limited and divisions will be amended. therefore, as per ec rules, section a: general regulations, article a805.6, no national points will count or be awarded due to the variability of competition access by region/province/territory. ec jumping programs. there will be no ec jumping national programs or national finals in 2020. no qualifiers will be held for the cet medal, jc medal, u25 program or hunter derby finals. competitions may host any of the above noted classes; however, no national points will be awarded. green status. green status will be rolled over into 2021; a horse will hold the same green status in the 2021 competition season that they did for 2020. view the ec rules, section g: hunter, jumper, equitation and hack for class specifications regarding green status. for questions and/or concerns, please contact karen hendry-ouellette, manager of sport – jumping at jumping@equestrian.ca.
