Jordan McDonald of Oakville, ON, took first place in the CIC 2* Will O’ Wind Farm Horse Trials , Orangeville, ON, July 14, riding Amanda and Jorge Bernhard’s Glencento, a seven-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare sired by Inocent. Will O’ Wind Farm is the site of the cross country competition at the 2015 Pan American Games.

McDonald sat in second place following dressage and show jumping on a 45.3 behind Callie Evans of Reaboro, ON, and Glendening Avis, her eight-year-old Canadian Sport Horse mare sired by Ferrari GS, who held the lead on a score of 43.4. Close behind in third spot on a score of 46.0 was Colleen Loach of Duham, QC, riding Qorry Blue D’Argouges, a nine-year-old Selle Francaise gelding sired by Mr. Blue, owned by Susan and Peter Barry, while Lisa Fergusson of Langley, BC sat in fourth place with Feral Errol, Gina Fiore’s 14-year old Irish Sport Horse gelding sired by Errolgal Flight, on a 49.1.

It came down to wire for the final four over Canadian designer Jay Hambly’s cross country course. McDonald took the win by posting a 6:00 minute ride for 6.8 time penalties finishing on 52.1 and overtaking Evans, who dropped to third after accumulating 13.2 time penalties cross country. Fergusson moved up to place second, earning four time penalties and finishing on a score of 53.1 while Loach finished fourth on a score of 58.0. Loach also took fifth place with Susan and Peter Barry’s Freespirit, the seven-year-old Canadian bred mare by Freedom Z.
