Dressage Canada (DC) is pleased to name Joanna White of Aurora, ON, the DC Volunteer of the Month for November.
White was nominated by the DC Officials Committee, who wanted to recognize White for the immense volunteer effort she has put into taking over the leadership of the production of the Officials Post.
Heading up the publication, which boasts four editions a year, is no easy feat. White has devoted countless hours sourcing quality articles and photographs, ensuring the publication comes out on time, and maintaining a well-balanced and informative magazine for DC’s officials.
In addition to her publishing duties, White is also an Equine Canada (EC) Senior Dressage Judge, a coach, an active FEI competitor, and a clinician. She has judged competitions throughout Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces. Her mentorship and leadership have allowed her students to earn accolades of their own.
They routinely compete and win at EC sanctioned competitions. They have earned EC bronze and silver awards for both horses and riders, captured provincial awards and championships, and have been recognized for provincial bursaries and ‘Go for the Gold’ funding.
As an FEI competitor, White currently competes at the Grand Prix level, and has won the bronze, silver, and gold EC rider achievement awards.
For her outstanding volunteer and professional contributions to the sport, DC is pleased to recognize White’s ongoing support of dressage in Canada by awarding her the DC Volunteer of the Month Award for November.
