HRH Princess Haya has announced that she will not run for a third term as FEI president.

HRH Princess Haya was elected as FEI president in 2006 in the first-ever contested election for the FEI presidency, and re-elected in 2010 in the first contested election involving a serving president.

Following her election in 2006, Princess Haya initiated a motion to limit the term of the FEI president to two, four-year terms, which was passed by the FEI General Assembly and incorporated into the FEI Statutes.
