On the second day of CSIO Barcelona, Holly Smith and Denver won the La Vanguardia Trophy, the first competition of the day. The British rider took the lead being faster by five one-hundredths of a second than the second-placed Mathieu Billot (Lord de Muze), yesterday’s winner of the Negrita Cup. In third place was the Colombian rider Nicolás Torro riding Desperado.
Gerardo Menéndez Mieres with Cassino DC, was the best Spanish representative on the Olympic arena of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona reaching the eights place.
At the end of the competition the public enjoyed a magical vaulting exhibition. The show composed by the national team and the Spanish champions performed acrobatics on horse cantering on a circle lead by a lunger. The show will also repeat tomorrow, Saturday at 5.30 pm and at 11pm.
CSIO Barcelona’s leisure offer will be complete by a new edition of the PoloPark by mesoestetic, which proposes different activities for children, several food trucks for all tastes, shows, live concerts and a market presenting the last fashion trends. With a total of 20.000 m2, the polo field of the Diagonal club is the biggest green area of the city of Barcelona. The PoloPark by mesoestetic is open to the whole public of CSIO Barcelona.
CSIO Barcelona sport’s schedule will end tonight with the Hyundai Cup of the City of Barcelona, coinciding with the first gala dinner.
