Brittany Fraser of New Glasgow, N.S. pulled off a hat trick aboard the aptly named All In, winning all three small tour classes at the CDI Equivents Spring Classic, held May 21-24 in Cedar Valley, Ont.

Fraser’s string of successes with her 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, All In (Tango x Damiro) began on May 22 with a first place finish in the FEI Prix St. Georges on a score of 72.368%. Their next win came the following day in the FEI Intermediate I Freestyle, where an exciting performance set to music by Klingande earned a score of 73.875%, which proved to be a leading score by nearly 4.5%.

“All In was exactly on point at the horse show,” said Fraser, an up-and-coming rider at the Grand Prix level who trains under Canadian Olympian, Ashley Holzer. “He is always consistent in the ring, but this weekend he really shined.”

Fraser’s final win came on May 24 when she achieved yet another impressive score (73.553%) with All In in the Intermediate I.

“Winning all three classes gave me a big boost of confidence going into the last show of the Pan Am qualifying period. I think this puts me in a good spot heading into the Ottawa CDI,” said Fraser, who is currently holding her own on the Dressage Canada Pan American Games Leaderboard, which tracks the Pan Am qualifying scores in anticipation of naming the team who will compete for Canada in Toronto this summer. Currently, Fraser’s average out of four qualifying scores in the small tour with All In is 72.421%, which is the second-highest to date.

Two-time Canadian Olympian, Jacqueline Brooks of Cedar Valley, Ont. also collected her fair share of red ribbons in front of her hometown crowd. Together with her 2012 London Olympics mount, D Niro (D-Day x Napoleon 625), a 16-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding owned by Mary Brooks and Brookhaven Dressage Inc., Brooks won both the FEI Grand Prix (68.680%) on opening day and the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle (73.175%) on May 23.

Other notable Canadian results in the big tour included Ste-Adele, QC native, Evi Strasser claiming the FEI Grand Prix Special on a score of 65.961% aboard her 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Rennaisance Tyme, sired by Royal Diamond. The duo finished just behind Brooks in second place in the FEI Grand Prix after scoring 66.780%.

Christilot Boylen, a veteran who currently lives in Wellington, Fla., and has been competing for Canada at major games since 1964, also made her mark in the big tour. Paired with her 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding, Drentano (De Niro x Bretano II), she took third place in the FEI Grand Prix (66.080%) before moving on to earn second place in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle after scoring 72.575%.

Canadians also filled the top of the leaderboard in the small tour, with Diane Creech of Caistor Centre, Ont. riding Doug Leatherdale’s 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding, Hallmark (His Highness x Lancier), to second place in the FEI Prix St. Georges, scoring 70.040%. They also took third in the FEI Intermediate I on a score of 67.982%. Leslie Reid of Langley, B.C. took third place in the FEI Prix St. Georges, scoring 69.035% with Juliet Sears Ledorze’s 11-year-old Westphalian gelding, Fine and Smart. Reid also placed second in the FEI Intermediate I Freestyle (69.400%).
